Lunch on the screen

Anyone tried the Itsu now open on PHS? Totally cashless and minimally human. To get food, you go to a screen (if it’s working – my first try wasn’t), summon a series of images of dishes – touch the one you want – hit the screen again – shove in your plastic – put in your pin - hit the screen again – you get a voucher – take voucher to the counter – you get your order in a bag – then choose utensils – and leave.  A young lady is floating about to assist ancient clients. At 12-30 pm it was crowded – 90% young. A la E.M. Forster (lately of these parts) what happens if The Machine Stops?Starve – and fret about the future.

Didn't McDonald's install self service screens a while ago - not that I ever go in one, but the screens are visible from the outside. I guess with increased labour costs and a reduced pool of workers to recruit from, self service will become more common in future?

How old-fashioned! Why not have a meal in a tablet?Preferably printed out at home by a 3D printer attached to your PC (or to your Tablet, I suppose).

I tried it and had plenty of help in negotiating the unfamiliar system. Sushi good, noodles a bit difficult to eat but tasty. Shall go again and try the rice bowl.
