Flu Jab

Heathbridge Practice were doing a good job with the flu jabs last Friday, trying to get as many done as possible. Well organised with helpers.

We've both had the Moderna vaccine after the routine Pfizer one over the last couple of years. No problems other than a sore arm and feeling a bit groggy the next day.The NHS site didn't list anywhere in Putney for vaccination, so we had it done in the surgery at the chemists' in World's End. It was cramped and stressful and I wouldn't recommend it, though the staff were pleasant enough.A week later had the flu jab at Boots in the High St. Stress free, casual and no need to book. Turned up late afternoon when they were quiet and all went well.I've been on strong medication for many years for my eye condition but no reaction to the vaccines.I'd suggest have the vaccine rather than Covid!

Thanks Michael and Paul, I'm forever having blood tests, otherwise I can't get my medication. They done loads in Hospital blood tests and since.

Barbara, have a friend who also is in a dreadful state since the vaccination. Unfortunately the doctors wasn’t much help and said it’s probably long covid, my friend replied,  I don’t remember ever having covid. He’s now arrange to have d-dimer blood test. Best P

Barbara. You've obviously got to make you're own decisions based on other medications you're taking, your doctor's advice and how you react to things. We all react differently to medications which is why a lot of research is being done to tailor treatments to individuals.I hope you're feeling fine today.

Michael, it lasted months. My other half had the same pain and a neighbour down the road. I'm on a mild dose of Methetrexate i've been on for 20yrs, which doesn't always agree with me. But if you read some of the side effects of other R/Arthritus drugs, I don't won't my eyes popping out.

Andy, it wasn't anything to do with posts on forum, too many people had this pain at the back of their head. I was also getting giddy spells. I wasn't well after getting Colitus and in Hosp for 4 days, they thought it was something I had, had to eat, I had Sainsbury's cheese straws with poppy seeds on. Could have poisoned me or scratched my inside. Also a blood clot. But after having so much medication in March, I haven't really wanted the Covid jab. So had the flu for now.

BarbaraProbably better a headache than  full blown covid. Don't get put off by the nonsense posters on here  but at the end of the day each to his own.

MattFor the covid booster the NHS will contact you directly and let you know you can now arrange your appt.Here in Brighton had my flu jab at docs last saturday and booked in for the covid booster at racecourse for saturday week.Happy days.

Matt, I have had messages on my phone regarding the Covid jab, but didn't reply as was a bit worried after the 3rd one had pains in head, they seem to keep mixing the jab your going  to get. The reason I get called for Flu etc is because I have R/Arthritus. I even went to the large Boots last year to get my medication and the Pharmacist said would I like the flu jab he could do it, if I could wait 5 mins. Try ringing your Surgery and asking when you could get yours. They seemed older people last Friday my other half and I both went together. Good Luck.

Did you get your covid booster at the same time Barbara? I'm keen to get the flu jab soon but as i'm literally just 50 i dont think i'm due the booster for a while yet. Not sure how it works.thanks
