That's an interesting point, Sue. Many organisations will ask people to declare offences and check then against the official records, then assess if it's relevance to the job, the risk and what qualifications and expertise the individual has. She probably won't get a job in financial services, cyber security - or with an IT service provider but she probably wouldn't want one. However, there must be a number of jobs where this particular offence wouldn be a problem (Bar work? Artistic jobs? Cutting keys?) as I don't think she presents a threat to anyone physically? I'm sure there are a some senior people in financial services that have serious criminal records such as drunk driving convictions, assault …; of course, it helps to have friends in the right places?Surprised to see Greenpeace hijack the Tory party conference :-)
