Alastair Little RIP
I was sad to see that the excellent chef Alastair Little has died. I use his recipe books a lot and with my wife visited his eponymous restaurant in Soho when he was running it in (I think) the 1990s. I saw from his obituary something I had not previously known - that he had once worked in Putney, at a restaurant called Simpson's. Despite having lived in Putney since 1990 and indeed intermittently for a few years before that, I don't recall Simpson's - it must already have disappeared by the time I began to notice establishments like restaurants rather than simply pubs. Does anybody remember where it was and what it was like, and have a moment to gratify my curiosity?
