Fundraiser Plants for People in Crisis – Sat 16 July 10 am to 12pm, Lower Richmond Rd
I am selling plants again this year, in aid of the International Rescue Committee (IRC-UK registered charity no 1065972)*. All the monies raised will go to my fundraising page for the IRC-UK: justgiving.com/fundraising/amanda-edwards31. The charity is supporting refugees from Ukraine (working with its partners in Ukraine itself and Poland) and others forced to flee their homes from elsewhere around the world, such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Yemen.Where: Lower Richmond Road, opposite Botanical Gardener, by the pedestrian crossing between Ashlone Road and Danemere St.Plants on offer include trailing geraniums, lobelias, begonias and petunias (no vegetable plants). Hopefully some people will still have a few gaps to fill in their pots and containers. *The IRC parent charity in New York is headed by President and CEO David Milliband. It reports financial efficiency as follows: 87% of funds applied to programmes, 8% to administration and 5% to fundraising.
