I was at Kingston Hospital outpatients yesterday, and was intrigued by this sign at the RVS cafe. Only cash or card payments, eh? What else could they have accepted? Blood? Bodily fluids? Spare body parts? The mind boggles...

Hadn't realised they still existed but they do! Although the 15 pence a day tax free concession was withdrawn in 2013; I guess when they were introduced in 1946 one could actually by luncheon with one? :-)Alternatively, I suppose the elite could go and visit Cynthia's?
