I wonder, it takes one to know one? I am not too sure it is Johnson's fatal mistake because Gove is a really slimy nasty character, in my view.Initially, I thought the whole process had a whiff of Maggie Thatcher being removed.I think now is is nastier and perhaps more dangerous? As Nadine Dorries said a while ago, if Johnson goes the donors will withhold their contributions?  Or words to that effect.

And now Johnson fires Gove and a number 10 source calls Gove a snake. Is that Johnson's fatal mistake? Better to have the snakes inside hissing out than outside hissing in? :-)

It's worse than that - Conservative party members are only given 2 to choose from. This is hardly a democratic process. Johnson's ascension to the office of PM rested on the majority support of Conservative MP's. This appears now to be evaporating - though this species is not the quickest on the uptake.

If rumours about a secret super injunction concerning Johnson's pregnant hairdresser returning  to Canada in haste are true then perhaps Carrie might be resigning her marital position - after all what else would Johnson be doing with a hairdresser? But it's probably fake news on the internet if Nadine hasn't had it banned :-)

I almost fell off my chair when I read the news two minutes ago!I agree that Sunak is very capable, not too sure about Javid.Unfortunately, the ones that remain are not very capable to put things politely....Nadine for Chancellor....  I dread the thought of that woman in any position of authority - no, not Chancellor, PLEASE!!!
