The Source

I just wanted to say how fantastic The Source “zero waste” shop is on Putney High St.  They sell a massive range of environmentally friendly products, from nuts to rice, olive oil to washing liquid.  I’m slowly switching over to them for loads of things, thereby stopping more plastic ending up in landfill and even saving money as they are cheaper than my usual Tescos / Waitrose.  Staff are also lovely and helpful.  I have no connection with the shop, I just wanted to recommend it to others to try as I think it’s a brilliant addition to the high street.

The idea is a brilliant one but the prices are too expensive. Supermarkets should be encouraged to incorporate allowing customers to bring their own containers when using self-checkout.

I love these shops and whilst I can afford it, the costs of product are always the turn off for me especially in the current climate. Hopefully in a near future these shops become more mainstream making them more wallet friendly for more.

I'm happy with bars of soap but him indoors likes liquid soap.  The pumps for soap are not recyclable so refilling a ceramic dispenser or reusing a plastic one with bulk bought liquid soap reduces your use of plastic.
