My wife's PC was recently invaded by "trojan" virus which locked it up. It gave a London number for "Windows support" which turned out to be someone with an American accent. After a lot of toing and froing we were asked for £400 for a software fix.I terminated the call, phoned a few folk and spoke to Matt Palmer. I took the laptop round to him and he fixed in it 20 minutes, no charge! Fantastic! He was of course happy to receive a donation to his wine rack. There are so many nasty viruses out there and this one, and the person on the other end of the line, was very convincing, at least for a time. It was also very worrying because the laptop really was disabled and we were led to believe the virus had affected every other device on our home wifi (which was not the case).
