Boris...a non inflammatory question

I was wondering. There are many for/against the Tory party as is our democratic right but, without argument what is your reason for disliking Boris? I don't mean the Tory party as a whole.With my HR head on I feel he is a bully. I'm not a Tory voter but I've seen other Tory Prime Ministers past with more integrity.

However my view is that bullies I have encountered are generally weak, they bully in groups but if there is push-back they fold or become defensive or portray themselves as the victim.

Ms Campbell'With my HR head on I feel he is a bully'.I am trying to think back to when grown men and women started claiming they were bullied.These days people claim they were bullied in instances ranging from a junior not being asked 'please' when asked to get a coffee; to mature workers being asked to work in their offices rather than at home now that Covid is pretty much over; to middle managers (particularly it seems in the Civil Service ) being criticised by their superiors for decisions made or actions taken and even six-figure salaried senior Civil Servants not addressed by Government Ministers in a way they would have liked.I was lucky enough to work for a company with a culture where staff were treated well.'People are our biggest asset'.Yes there where when instances I describe above occurred.But we put this down to the fact that there are always some whose people and man-management skills were deficient or were just sh!ts.But that is true of life and people as a whole.We just got on with it.We all hated bullying but defined this as what went on in the playground. Never imagined it was going on all around us !Oh, though I am not a fan of Johnson I struggle to recall reports of his bullying.Junior staff ? The Cabinet Secretary ? Rich Dishi Rishi ?I thought he was in the dock for the opposite - partying with all and sundry and providing the cakes and wine !!

Matt, but the Johnson supporters don't care about his racist, sexist, elitist, homophobic, etc views, or his law breaking and lack of morals; probably many agree with him or just support him because they think he believes in Brexit. What fools: he only supported Brexit rather than remaining in the EU as he saw it as a way to ousting Cameron and achieving his ambition to become PM.  I think this video is the YouTube one posted a couple of days ago and is also doing the rounds of FB as well, but this was all known before the 2019 election; I seem to remember a number of us pointing out some of these points on this very forum! As I say, his supporters don't care about his lack of integrity; they think he's "done" Brexit but it could all unravel because of the ill conceived NI protocol and the risk to the GFA.

I stand by what I’ve said from the behaviour seen Sue. Of course I am in no way privy to conversations in the house but I would in no way be surprised if he and his followers have used bully tactics to vote. As for the parties….he would have had to “sack himself” too lol.Maybe you should also look at the content of The Good Law Project too.

David. That was a classic case of political manoeuvring and was not bullying. Did any of those sacked accuse Boris of bullying? No, they accepted that some actions (such as defying the party whip) could have detrimental consequences and everybody moved on.

Maxine you say Boris is a bully but I think your HR head has veered way off kilter with that statement. I would say the opposite is true. I have heard it said many times by political commentators and even some of his colleagues that Boris loves to be popular and will avoid sacking people at all costs and in my opinion these are not characteristics of a bully. Misplaced loyalty has also got Boris into trouble; Cummings and Paterson are just two cases. The party shenanigans that went on in No 10 have been extremely damaging to Boris and I think he should have sacked the worst serial offenders but he has not done so. In my book that shows Boris to be weak rather than bullish.

His performance before Tory MPs yesterday, in which (following his supposedly humble apology in the light of the Sue Gray report) he said he'd do it all again, was all too typical of his mendacious behaviour.

At least they used to do their best to hide their dishonesty. This crop are utterly and literally shameless, with Boris sitting at the top of the dung-heap on a golden throne, under spotlights, preening himself in a mirror and wearing a halo.

I'm not actually convinced there was a golden age of integrity.Of course ministers did resign but only when caught and many would just come back again  after a year on the back benches.There certainly seems to be very little integrity when it came to foreign policy. Democracies overthrown or their elected leaders assassinated.

To that list you could add that Johnson has one, and one only, guiding principle, and that's the interests of Boris Johnson.

I do not think I have one reason for disliking Boris, I have many.  Chronic liar (which of course includes dishonesty and lack of integrity), bully, dishonest, lack of integrity, lack of empathy, a joker, lack of moral compass....
