Stray cat

There is a stray cat trying to find a home on Burston road at the corner often sitting on the pavement where “hombre barbers “ are . He is very friendly , black and white, a little fluffy and scruffy .. sadly he seems quite hungry and some people kindly give him water and food now and then , Any thoughts to help him or,  her, is welcome . Great story.  Also check out the kids' book Six Dinner Sid and I love the Simon's Cat cartoons, Mog stories and a particular Fat Freddie's cat cartoon where the cat indulges its master by chasing a piece of string.

In America a cat owner noticed that her pet ate only sparingly before waltzing out for a wander that lasted a couple of hours and ended with the cat  rolling into a ball and falling asleep. She began to wonder who was feeding the animal. So next day she put a card around the cat's neck, saying: "If this cat has been scrounging for food please ring me (number supplied)". By the end of the day she had received eight phone calls.

Thank you to all for abundant answers and stories shared , like someone said, whoever the owner of is the cat seem somewhat neglected and lonely / hungry .. however It’s a relief to know he or she has an owner , some being more responsible than others I guess !

Yes, we've seen her too and she somehow has a 6th sense where traffic is concerned. If a cat has a cat flap it is inevitable it will go wandering. Our Zelda is a house cat and isn't at all interested in going out.

"Fortunately, being in the middle of a terrace, we could let our cats out into the back garden but not the front so avoiding the risk from traffic."A long time ago, our cat was looked after, in situ, by our neighbour for 2 weeks while we were on holiday. When we got back our neighbour was most distressed to have to tell us that our cat had gone missing a day before, despite it only being able to go into our back garden (in the middle of a terrace).Our worries were ended the next morning by a complaining cat sitting on our front window-ledge, wanting some food and querying where we had been.A house just up the road was having some major work done at the time and we could only assume that our cat had taken advantage of their back and front doors both being open at the same time.

Cats certainly like to go out and explore. Fortunately, being in the middle of a terrace, we could let our cats out into the back garden but not the front so avoiding the risk from traffic. Not sure about them being sociable; they certainly like to go out and hunt. Some might be sociable but many are very territorial - even in her 20s Felicity would hiss at the neighbours' cats if she spotted them in her garden. They seemed to respect her age and humour her by retreating:-) They'll certainly be friendly if there's a possibility of food - particularly if it's better quality than their usual slaves provide!

Cats tend to be sociable animals and like to go out and about.  They are the masters and we are the servants!

Regardless of the cat being fed by some kind people I would be very worried that the poor thing is being left outside for so much of the time.  Can never understand why people do this with so much traffic in the area.  Irresponsible owner in my opinion.

Really ? It just seemed he was living tough, but this is a great relief , thank you so much I was worried as I m a cat lover . This sounds rather good , those pussycats are full of surprises ..’

Hello MarieThe little cat is actually owned, but he/she likes to be out and about.  The girls in Kleo feed him/her and look after the cat, as do the volunteers in the charity shop just a few doors along.  Although the cat has an owner, there is a cat flap, so he/she goes out a lot!!
