Ukraine flag display vandalused at  Putney station

I put up all the bunting as a show of solidarity with Ukraine, all the planters from Putney BID  smashed up and plants stolen on Saturday night, some depraved people around

I was very sorry to see the wilful damage when I passed by earlier today. I hope that what's left will be put in order soon. Some thought needs to go into a reconstruction: It would be good if a more solid structure could be put in its place and also the spaces behind the stands require cleaning and clearing of rubbish.

But as you say in an earlier post it's most likely mindless, drunken, vandalism so one expects the police will take a similar view as there's no apparent evidence to the contrary?

The police won't bother with this. Lack of resources, care and frankly, it's not even worth the CPS's time to actually take them to court.

One assumes it was mindless, drunken vandalism? I'd agree with Ivonne, if they're identified on CCTV and found guilty a lengthy community service would be the most appropriate and productive punishment. Perhaps some of the local pubs would like to assist in reinstating it?https://flic.kr/p/2n6n9M7Let's see what response there is from the police ... but do they have the resources to investigate?

Perhaps they vandalised by Russian's still in the UK... And forget about any CCTV, it's useful to watch the crime afterwards. That bloke that pushed the woman in front of the Bus on Putney Bridge. Loads of CCTV, never found him. Useless, truly.

Hello Penelope,It really beggars belief!  Such stupid, brainless (and drunken?) vandalism.  Grrrr!!!I hope the CCTV cameras have recorded all of this and the mindless idiots caught.  Prison?  I am not too sure, perhaps I would be inclined to two years community service with 12 hour days and on very minimum wage....

It's hard to know whether that's anti-Ukrainian feeling or just mindless vandalism: either way it's awful. I hope the display will very quickly be reinstated.
