Not voting for 'local conservatives'

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.On the ballot papers which arrived this morning, no Conservative Party candidates are standing and instead we have the risible moniker of 'local conservatives'.What message does that send to the electorate? That Conservative candidates are so embarrassed and ashamed that they cannot even bring themselves to call themselves what they are. If Maggy were still alive she would have something to say about this lot.A Labour victory is near-certain now in Wandsworth. I am tactically voting Labour for the first time EVER because I would much rather my local councillors be able to do something about issues in Putney, than being in permanent opposition after Johnson has wrecked the Conservative Party.

How utterly stupid anyone is that does not recognise the Conservative Party as a national organisation which stands candidates in local elections. It is much like the kind of stupidity which might lead someone to arrange an illegal party, attend it, be photographed at it, yet claim publicly they had no knowledge of any parties taking place, expecting to be believed. Even more so, much like the stupidity of someone actually believing them, even to the point of defending them.

How utterly stupid some people are  It is an election for LOCAL candidates for LOCAL affairs, .  Not a general election for the whole of Great Btiitain  Local councillors are far more aware of things that are important to their local constituancy than is the government  Very often the successful candidates are totally opposite to the government even when being of the same party  Local councillors really care for their constituancy  The trouble is when they become actual MP's they often change their attitude
