He supports blokes that run away from their own country. They then break the law in every country they then pass through.  They leave those they leave behind to pick up the bill to the traffickers and we get lumbered when they get here. He's a virtue signaller (on Easter Sunday to boot) & you lot feel good about yourselves as a result. Everyone else has to pick up the pieces from what they have done.They are nothing worse than selfish cowards & you lot can't see it.

Sue, you may not like the Archbishop of Canterbury but he was/is correct in saying that transporting refugees/immigrants to Rwanda was morally wrong - which it certainly is! It is quite revealing that, in today's newspapers, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express have an enormous splash on this, while The Telegraph has a very small article on it saying it is "moralizing". In contrast, its main headline refers to the PM...... A more appropriate headline. About politics and morals, do you remember the Archbishop of York cutting up his clerical collar in Andrew Marr's programme in protest against Mugabe?  He was right to do so.I do like the Archbishop of Canterbury but the one that makes my skin crawl most certainly is devious Priti Patel and her constant smirk.

Widely accepted definition of "opinion": a belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof. i.e. significant to the person holding it, but capable of being rationally rejected by others of a different persuasion. Not unlike a prejudice.Just saying.

He is a glorified vicar who seems unable to stick to his day job i.e. promoting the CofE without moonlighting into politics at every  opportunity. Listening to him pontificating about sending of asylum seekers to Rwanda was being 'ungodly' made my skin crawl too. However when he opens up Lambeth Palace and the Old Palace in Canterbury to house them I will applaud him instead. Not holding my breath on that ever happening ...Last November Welby got himself into hot water and had to apologise when he likened the climate crisis to the Nazis:https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/nov/01/justin-welby-apologises-for-likening-climate-threat-to-nazisWelby subsequently apologised:"I unequivocally apologise for the words I used when trying to emphasise the gravity of the situation facing us at Cop26. It’s never right to make comparisons with the atrocities brought by the Nazis, and I’m sorry for the offence caused to Jews by these words.”He seems to have conveniently forgotten that before he had his epiphany moment and miraculously found God he was an oil company executive for 11 years and coining a huge salary from the industry he now vociferously criticises!In my opinion Welby is a sanctimonious hypocrite.

My comment was clearly headed "Re: Priti Patel" - it is she who makes my skin crawl and her Rwanda plan is just bonkers as well as being immoral. Justin Welby is fine by me - great that he speaks truth to power.
