As well as pollution in PHS, the payment of living wages by the council and its contractors also seemed to be an important - and coordinated - topic. A well disciplined meeting but perhaps because many were online; there were empty seats in the hall.

Not only that, but Locker's claim that the level of NO2 in PHS is falling significantly was bogus (par for the course where Tory claims are concerned). There has been a small (ca. 10%) fall in the underlying level over the last four years, but the random variations caused by lower traffic in the various lockdowns in the last two years make careful interpretation of the figures essential, not vainglorious boasting.

Good hustings this evening. Interesting to see how widespread concern is about air pollution on the high street. Very telling to have the tory candidate reassure us that pollution levels were slowly dropping and then have the green candidate point out that the current level is 6 times higher than UN recommendations!
