Sir David Ames Murder Trial

Why are we wasting so much money on legal aid to put this POS on trial? When Ali killed Sir David Ames it was witnessed by everyone in the room and he actually admitted to police that more MPs were on his list to be killed. However he has pleaded not guilty to murder so what the hell was it then?  It's an open and shut case as far as I am concerned so what possible defence is there? Sentence announced.  Whole life term.  This POS will die behind bars.  I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

I know Sue and it's awful that money has to be spent in this way but either you treat everyone the same or you're not truly a free country.

Well all kinds of events can be witnessed via live streaming which isn't strictly real time.  However perhaps I should have said many others were in the same room at the exact time Ali stabbed Ames to death ...

No of course not Matt. But when a murder is witnessed by many in real time and the killer admits he killed the victim and was intending to kill more MPs what possible defence is there?
