They have admitted knowingly breaking the law because it would be more profitable for them to do so. It is tempting to suggest that P&O should be nationalised without compensation. It would be much better for the UK to choose to save on the compensation, although probably illegal. P&O's lawyers had better be arrested too. That would be to our advantage also, wouldn't it?

Something that concerns me is that if they're prepared to look for loopholes in or brazenly break employment law then can one be sure they won't do the same with safety regulations to save money? Another thing that came apparent in the Commons committee was that the P&O CEO hadn't signed off a risk assessment for the action they were about to take.
