Yes, it was most interesting. I was due to go with a friend but unfortunately she had a TIA a couple of weeks before our departure date, so I went on my own. Not really a problem as you're so marshaled around, but we did have a few hours when we could go out on our own. Without my friend I was wary of this as the traffic is terrifying.One guide book has a section on dangers in Iran which says, forget earthquakes, forget terrorists. It's the traffic! When crossing a road, try to get close to an Iranian, and make sure they're on the side of the oncoming traffic.On the headscarves, I think educated Iranian women let the scarves slide back quite a bit, but our guides were constantly warning us to make sure all our hair was covered. I guess some zealous revolutionary guard would be only to happy to pounce on a British woman.
