On Nextdoor Neighbour, has anyone noticed crime reports being removed?

Couple of people forwarded emails to me with posts about a couple of different crimes they'd put up on NN. When I went to read them, they'd been removed. Wondered if anyone knew if this was normal procedure, and why?

Yes you are probably right but it's not helpful. It's no wonder crime is out of control and prosecutions at an all time low.

Posting pictures from doorbell cameras, which is probably what the removed posts contained, of 'suspicious' individuals is contentious even where it's pretty clear they're up to no good. I don't think it applies to simple verbal descriptions unless it's groundless and possibly highly identifying.

Proper moderation on forums is obviously important but why on earth are posts about criminal incidents being removed?  What's the point of a local forum that cannot alert residents about local crimes?

Unlike this lawless place there are sensible procedures on Nextdoor. If a post gets reported it's reviewed by a select set of members and voted on by them to either remove/possibly remove/keep. If there are around three votes in favour of any of those options then that will be the outcome.
