Yes, Richard, I was surprised that it didn't end to a link playing Rule Britannia :-) Thinking about it, should one fight for a "country" (a piece of land) or, more importantly, for a principle: for freedom, against authoritarianism, facism, nazism, etc? I suppose I can identify as a Londoner, English, British or European - at what level would one determine I should fight for a piece of land? Would I fight: never been put in the position to make a decision and as you say it's difficult to know the answer to such a hypothetical question as, apart from anything else, one doesn't know the context it will be asked in. (Are the Russian conscripts in Ukraine happy to fight for their country? I don't think they were asked or given an option?) To quote John Lennon: "Image …".
