Depends how long you've lived here. Forty years ago house prices were manageable.I came because I was priced out of Ted Knight's Lambeth and his meteoric rates rises.19 years for a dishwasher is pretty good going. When my microwave packed up a few years ago it turned out to be older than the John Lewis delivery guy who took it away and delivered its replacement.

Sadly, our loyal dishwasher for 19 years could not be repaired.... :-( :-(So a new eco one is arriving on Wednesday.

Buy a new one. £250 at most. If you are that hard up then god knows how you live in Putney.

Thank you all for the suggestions. My husband wants to try one more thing before calling somebody in. Something like a clip (not working now?) on the hose that fills the dishwasher with water...

I just checked on nextdoor.co.uk and 5 came up. I clicked on their search with dishwasher repair. Sorry I don't know how to copy that info onto this site.ChiswickW4.com often mention Tony D'Souza for repairs tel 07956 343 336. I haven't tried him.

Ivonne. I'm happy you are in the situation that you've done all the troubleshooting. I've used Multifix in the distant past too and they were fine but everything has changed over the last couple of years. I'd forgotten their name. Good luck and I hope you get your dishwasher fixed.

Thank you Barbara. That is very helpful and very kind. I appreciate it enormously. Thank you.

Ivonne, you could try this number 0208 878 3822. That was Multifix in Sheen, but they still seem to be live, perhaps they have opened another shop. The one in Sheen is shut. My other half used to ring and speak to an engineer to get advice.

Philippa, we are very well aware of all of this. the problem is not the fuse either.I asked a simple question, does anyone know of a person who can repair dishwashers.I can check many places, but was hoping for a personal recommendation.
First stop the manufacturers online for their troubleshooting information and to get an idea of the problem and if in warranty you'll want one of their engineers.Sometimes if it is very simple piece eg new drawer or cutlery basket you can get it at E-spares or another online spare parts company but otherwise you're probably looking for a local engineer who can deal with your make of machine. Checkatrade?
Always a good idea to contact the manufacturer as they will have approved engineers.
