Wandsworth Climate Assembly

Wandsworth council's limited attempt to combat climate change is being challenged by the formation of the Wandsworth Climate Assembly. Those people who are interested should have a look at the website at https://wandsworthclimateassembly.org.uk where organisations and individuals can sign up to be part of the Wandsworth Climate Assembly. The idea is to work together to push the council for a climate assembly. Pressure can work!

It is good to see that there has been a pilot scheme helping council tenants to assess how they can be helped with energy saving and other advice. However there are many people who are not council tenants who are in financial straits.Billions of pounds of benefits to which people are entitled go unclaimed.  Many people find that the all the forms are too difficult to negotiate and live in food and fuel poverty.https://www.entitledto.co.uk/blog/2022/february/don-t-take-away-our-take-up-stats Wouldn't it be good to have somewhere on the high street where people could drop in to see what changes they could make to their homes to keep warm and use less fuel AND check that they are receiving the benefits that they are entitled to?
