Laptop repairs in the area

Hi everyone,Would anyone be able to recommend a handyman capable of fixing a laptop in the local area?I've looked at a few businesses but most of them are charging £60 to £80 for a fairly simple replacement (display cable needs replacing, have all of the parts in hand).Thanks in advance!

Hi Mark,I ended up managing to replace the display cable myself and it ended up not being the issue - it turns out, from what I can tell, there's a fuse shorted on the motherboard that'd need replacing and resoldering!It's a ThinkPad L440, not known for having issues to my knowledge.

Display cable replacement isn't necessarily a simple job. Often involves dismantling the machine to a large extent in order to get to the connectors. It's very easy to break a connector on the motherboard and ruin the whole thing. This does vary by manufacturer and individual laptop models, for example the display on a MacBook Air is impossible to dismantle, and the whole top half has to be replaced. So it'll probably take up to an hour to disassemble, reassemble and test. What make and model is it? Is it known for display cable issues?
