I don't think size matters here as there are many Londoners who never leave their locality for work eg South London or West London etc.

Yes, and Paris has an area of 10.4 km2 while London is over 1,500 km2.

One hour I believe :)Looking at crime rates in Paris & London - I'm not sure you would want to put your tools on a cargo bike which appear to be unsecured and on display.Clearly cargo bikes can be used for lots of things - perhaps a small number of tools.Likewise I doubt it would be suitable for a 12x4 sheet of plasterboard or plywood for example so not really a true replacement for a van.

Boris also closed police stations.Obviously by centralising police you loose some of those community links but you also lose time.Unless I'm mistaken their place of work is also changing and time to travel back is part of the working day. Other capital cities have greater subsidised public transport.  With such a great loss in fares due to Covid and Crossrail still unfinished it's not surprising that TfL is in trouble financially.  I thought that the Govt was still dictating what TfL could do?  Govt certainly kept sending the London Plan back until the amount of housing suited Govt.

Perhaps Sadiq Khan would be better as a bus driver. Parents usually want you to follow in their foot steps, perhaps he missed his true vocation, as he is cr=p at the one he has.

Pedestrian Crossings191You MUST NOT park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines. You MUST NOT overtake the moving vehicle nearest the crossing or the vehicle nearest the crossing which has stopped to give way to pedestrians.Laws ZPPPCRGD regs 18, 20 & 24, RTRA sect 25(5) & TSRGD regs 10, 27 & 28Those are laws that are referred to above.Motorists who overtake on crossings as well as those who exceed the speed limits should expect to be fined.  I don't see why anybody should feel or expect otherwise.

I've noticed a general down turn by all road users.It will only get worse as more road users realise that there is effectively no enforcement.Expect accidents to increase.It doesn't have to be this way. Countries that enforce the law have greener roads and less congestion.Sadly the liberal amongst us believe in self policing which hasn't worked!

18 motorists in under 10mins speeding along Putney Bridge road. Only that of these 2 law breaking groups, 1 presents any clear danger of serious injury. But hey, you carry on moaning about #bloodycyclists

In the US it's common for all vehicles to be able to turn right on red. (I think it's now allowed in all states unless prohibited at specific junctions, which could be most of them in some states.)

Cyclists can turn right when the lights are red in lots of countries in Europe.  I wonder if we will follow here.What I think is much more dangerous is cyclists and motorists who overtake at pedestrian crossings especially when fixated at running the red lights.  They are a danger to pedestrians using the crossings and also of hitting and flying up in the air and over the bonnet of any car crossing the road from a side road.

I'm not sure what the point was either.£50 is not really sufficient to deter people and it is unlikely that the police's action will be a regular thing.So the reason doesn't seem to be to change behaviour.Clearly just done to catch a headline. Perhaps a token gesture to the anti-cycling lobby?
