Paul my response had nothing to do with remain or brexit.It was concerning the role of those that should be impartial which we rely on in a free and democratic country. Johnson was given effectively a free pass not just by the media but also other organisations. Many were rewarded with honours.Once in office he seems to have taken Blair's blueprint concerning the civil service and media to the next level.If proper check and balances had been put in place after the Blair fiasco then we would be in a better place today. Rather than just changing the leader we need to address the weak governance concerning our governments, after all there are far worse people than Johnson that could end up on the throne next time!

He won an election. Got an 86 seat majority to boot.No help there then.You remainers never give up. Still squealing away it's not fair. Starmer says there's no going back, 25 % support for going back in.Good luck with that.

I just want him out quickly with as little fuss as possible, I know that won't happen but I can wish for it all the same! How many people have quit various roles over far, far less now?!I could just about stand him as mayor, he was even quite good with certain things in that role but as PM? No, it's time to move on from this poor 'leadership'.

Johnson had a lot of help getting to his throne. We should be asking how he managed to ascend so high.There seems to be less of an appetite to question the system that appears to have very little checks and balances.

Maybe we are all born with this solipsistic idea, but the vast majority of us lose it as a result of proper parenting and other experience. For some reason, Johnson didn't lose it.

I am still waiting for a coherent professional explanation of BJ's self-image. At Eton he declared his aim in life to be "world king", so his super-sized ego was there very early in life. But where did this idea come from? Did his parents implant it? Did he read it in a book? - a biography of the Emperor Nero - or maybe Genghis Khan? Was it somehow embedded in his mother's womb? All theories/suggestions welcome.

According to the Sunday Times, Operation Save Big Dog is grinding into action :A senior government source said: “He made it clear he thought [the Downing Street staff] had let him down. That everyone else is to blame.”and Boris is preparing to lay down the lives of his staff to save his own,” said one MP close to No 10. “It will be the Night of the Long Scapegoats.”Clearly, the man has absolutely no shame.

Perhaps the Queen understands service because she is under no illusions about having got her job and her wealth by earning it and by merit. She knows that she must at least try to be worth it, by her service. Perhaps Johnson foolishly believes that everything should come his way because he has "earned" it all by himself.

Interesting that Johnson loses sighgt of the fact that his position, powers and authority are gifted by the electorate and not by any right, he is in fact a public servant. Conversely, although I'm not a fan of hereditary positions, the Queen, whose position and authority is a birthright, appears to understand service.
