Stratford Grove, Lifford Street, Charlwood Terrace, Quill Lane, Modder Place and Cardinal Place are not currently on Openreach’s plans for fibre installation and have below average internet connections.High speed broadband is non-negotiable, and these streets have been left behind without any type of fibre connections. But probably not going to help FTTC in West Putney,  I suspect there are technical and commercial reasons why that's being bypassed.

I think the issue with the "slow" rollout or plans are because there's companies currently to the West of London getting left behind communities up to snuff. City Fibre seem to be doing Slough, Maidenhead and Bracknell with the intent of moving inwards towards the city.

An observation: listening to reports on the levelling up plans there seemed to be an emphasis on giving people 5G mobile broadband rather than gigabit fibre? Or did the message get lost in the DAB from BBC News?

What about relatively low speed free access? Possibly <10Mbs it would make a huge difference to those that currently have no access. Hi all, thanks for the support. The petition seems the only way that we will have any chance of FTTC on those streets (Stratford grove should have not been included in the petition) and we will not be overviewed for FTTP. It is also about having options as FTTP will probably be more expensive contracts. It is the same with 5G routers, they are rather expensive contracts.I believe openreach is not revising gaps in London but their priorities are elsewhere. The petition is the only way to get noticed and get at least FTTC.

Just thought it would be a popular thing to say? Did they ask OpenReach and other providers what was realistic?I wonder what OpenReach's reason is for leaving what seems to be an enclave of Putney without FTTC? One assumes it's one of these listed in their website FAQs:How do you decide where you’re going to put a new fibre broadband cabinet?First we have to find the right location – a new cabinet has to be within 100 metres of an existing one. Once we’ve done that we then check:• there’s access to power and the other infrastructure we need
• that the new cabinet won’t block pavements or access to roads
• if there are other utility companies’ cables underground, or any other obstacles
• how the cabinet will look – we have to take into account its visual impact in some places, for example conservation areas
• that we won’t put the security of any properties next to the cabinet at risk
• that it’ll be easy for us to get to the cabinet later for installations and any maintenance we need to doIt's also annoying that BT keep trying to convince us that FTTC is true fibre when what we all really want is FTTH!

Freddie, I had a look at Quill Lane too when this was posted.There are some address with 80Mbs but others at 7-16Mbs which is half that of many SW15 addresses I assume.There are reasonably priced 5G & 4G routers available as alternatives.Countries that invested in fast broadband have seen their economies grow faster than others.Sadly the UK would rather play politics as shown by the Huawei episode. I believe that Germany decided to ignore the US demands for a boycott but with Merkel gone it is now up to the German interior minister apparently.If you come at this from a private or public ownership view it just doesn't makes sense. There is not enough investment but then again why bother when the government can come along and redraw the rules?

Having had time to look at the attached PDF I see Balham, Putney, South Clapham and Wandsworth exchanges are in the 21/22-23/24 build delivery phase.

I just searched availability for Stratford Grove and it looks like you can get up to 80mbps with super fast it 330mbps with Gfast. There does seem to be a fibre cabinet at the bottom of Stratford Grove.  https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband

Not much help to those without FTTC at present but Putney now appears on a new BT  provisional rollout plan for FTTP:https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2022/01/openreach-publish-next-113-uk-fttp-broadband-rollout-areas.htmlIt might not happen until 2026 and it is provisional so even that date could be pushed back if problems arise. Not sure if it's good news for those without FTTC: it could be BTs putting more backbone capacity in place which could enable more FTTC or, alternatively, are they going to forger FTTC in some locations and upgrade directly from copper to FTTP? (I doubt whether such information is available!)

Just to Clarify,The petition is for a set of streets that do not have fibre to the cabinet, which is the minimum standard in all of London and the UK in general. Speeds in these streets top up at 10 Mbps. Those streets do not have any kind of access to fibre, only dated copper cable connections. Openreach has forgotten about the area and moved on.The petition is to bring the bare minimum to the streets. This is a petition by local residents backed by the councillors.

We’ll we’d all like that. On the way at some point hopefully. The OP hasn’t answered the question as to what they are getting. I doubt they’d be setting up a petition to get from 100mb to 1gb.

Yes Freddie, FTTC or Fibre to the Cabinet speeds of up to 80Mbps. That wasn't that long ago.I assume they are talking about fibre to the home i.e. Full Fibre (also known as FTTP) - speeds upto 900MB

A large part of Putney had fibre to the caninet. West Putney  off the LRR certainly does.

I see this petition is a "wandsworthconservative" one: shouldn't this government be investing in infrastructure for the future? I note that although we have Fibre to the Cabinet (not to the Premises) in East Putney when I checked today the download speed was slower than the upload one - I suspect that's a Plusnet problem further downstream rather than an Openreach local problem ...

Not all SW15 has BT Fibre coverage.I'm confused why there is a petition for only a few streets.What about the rest of SW15?
