Replacement bins on PHS

No ashtrays on top, leaving fag butts on top and around bins, no response from Thamesfield Con candidate I contacted. Previous bins had integral ashtrays and more capacity, seems a waste of our resources. Never any resident consultation. Keep referring to local plan, which is out of date to pandemic issues. Also why is there an abandoned parklet in Lacy Road taking up two disabled bays, still, from Positively Putney?

What annoys me on seeing that photo is the blatant trip hazard that the council have allowed just where people might be trying to 'dash' across the road.

...The aesthetically displeasing street furniture that adds to the cluttered appearance of the High Street, the potentially death dealing Copenhagen crossings, the filthy pavements and the litter, the lack of a full and appropriate street cleaning service, the sprayed on 'Christmas' friezes applied to empty shop windows, the amateurish displays tied to poles at the left hand side of the entrance to the Station, the lack of a public toilet, the empty shop doorways that smell of urine in the summer...the empty shops per se, (BetFred and Ciro recently having joined those that have closed with Smiggle in the Exchange soon to depart)...These are a few of my UNfavouraite things!

Thanks for your reply, Miles.  I would like to show the thing that irritates me most about the visual mess of street furniture on PHS and that is the Boat Race themed bollard.  The Boat Race takes place once a year and for some reason, because of this, we are lumbered with this horrible colour scheme:

I wondered why they chose these bins?   I think PHS is a mess when it comes to clutter and design of the street furniture.  If they stuck to one or 2 colours, it would, imo, really smarten things up.  Here is an example at the end of Montserrat Rd, one bike rack is black the other across the road is a very smart brushed stainless steel.
In the top photo, another colour is added with the blue lamppost.

These are amongst issues concerning Putney High Street that I have raised recently with Fleur Anderson. At the time of writing I am awaiting a reply to my email.The state of the High Street must continue to cause concern. I also note comments in the the article on this website regarding congestion and pollution deterring property buyers in Putney. For example, 'Even though relatively few people visit the office these days they do go to the High Street and what they see is really off putting.'
