Refurbishment of 10 Downing Street

We were innocently watching the BBC News the other night, when the subject of the refurbishment by Lulu Lytle came up. Well, fair enough, it was in the news — but then they proceeded to show some absolutely hideous images of what Lytle had perpetrated. Here, with apologies, are a couple to delight assault the eye. A "John Lewis nightmare"? I'll leave it to you to judge.
BTW, the "improvements included, according to the Telegraph: a Bear Sofa costing £19,950, an Owl lampshade at £11,600, a Venus chair at £5,900 and Dianthus wallpaper costing a trifling £840 per roll.

Hideous is a very soft word to describe the refurbishment.  I'd hate to think what the fees for the designer were....

It is probably based on First World War "Dazzle" camouflage. It will make it far more difficult for any potential assassin to aim accurately. They will probably be busy rubbing their eyes and howling.Bet that's it.

Ye, it makes my head swim just looking at it. I had realised it was likely to be, well, unusual-looking, but I had no idea it would be so hideous.

What an extremely expensive mess. All those clashing colours and the busy wallpaper and matching sofa is enough to bring on a migraine 🙀 although I do like the 2 stripey chairs.
