Royal Mail Problems in Putney

Anyone else noticed a lack of postal deliveries this past 2-3 weeks?My postie always delivers the mail between 10.30-11.00, lately I have hardly seen him, but yesterday he was only delivering packages and parcels.We are about 20% down on receiving Christmas cards anyone else noticed a problem?

We get a very good service from royal mail from the regulars, it's when there is someone who doesn't usually do that route that problems arise such as you weren't in parcels when you were!We also tip them at xmas!

So far no problems in SW15 6 area, though a friend in Putney Bridge Rd says she's had some, as have friends in Enfield. On Saturday a Christmas card arrived which a friend posted in San Diego on Dec 20 (US mail's franking still gives time and place). American friends complain about US Mail which I always found pretty good.I had to order something from Amazon which I don't like doing but I  couldn't find on the JL or Argos sites. I collected it from the sorting office on NYE.  When I thanked the postman for the work postmen do in these difficult times, he was clearly embarrassed. We owe a lot to people who can't WFH

Same at other end of the borough near AELTC.No deliveries for weeks.Amazing that Amazon and 'white van' deliveries seem to get through.Perhaps Royal Mail should sub-contract.

We've had some delays over the past week or do although I must admit that once we've been able to get through the website successfully to book them our LFTs have arrived fairly promptly.

Fross, I had a Christmas card from a Cousin stamped Berkhampstead area 21st December 2021, I never received till 31st December.

Our beloved postman told me today that mail deliveries will be several days delayed from now on he said the service had collapsed under the strain of too few staff retained, too many isolating with covid, and thousands upon thousands of covid test kits being distributed (he has done 4000!)
