Find out more about the Big City Butterflies project and Urban Greening in South West London.Our meeting on Monday 24 January at 7.30pm will focus onwork being done to encourage insect life in London – includingways in which we can assist by choosing appropriate planting.Ele Johnstone from Butterfly Conservation will talk about theBig City Butterflies project, which is designed to inspireLondoners to discover butterflies and moths, and connect them with nature and their local green spaces. The project extends across the inner London Boroughs and will last for four years.Fran Batt, the Nature Conservation Officer for Habitats and Heritage will focus on Urban Greening projects. She is working with residents, councils, businesses and community groups to createthriving habitats in small currently underutilised spaces.From roadside verges, to areas outside of houses, communitycentres, offices and schools; all of these spaces can have apositive impact on insect life.
