Benefits of the Covid Vaccine

So, if you know someone who has not had the vaccine, please do use all of your knowledge and power to influence them to get the jab. It’s not too late and scientists have found that two doses do not give the protection we all need - we need to get boosted too.”

I don't think its correct that overuse of antibiotics weakens the immune system. Overuse of antibiotics leads to bacteria mutating to produce variants that are resistant to antibiotics. That's why overuse of them in poultry and cattle farming is dangerous. New antibiotic resistant variants are produced that are then ingested by humans or passed to farm workers by contact. Antibiotics are medicines that cure post bacterial infection; vaccines are a preventive mechanism for boosting the immune system prior to infection to prevent or minimise the effects of an infection. I don't disagree with minimising medical interventions; I reduced my blood pressure by changing my diet rather than taking medication, but one has to do a risk/benefit analyses for each instance (and if my BP hadn't reduced I'd have reviews that decision). Given the events of the past two years I'm going with the Covid vaccine!

Thank you for your reasonable question, Sue.    It makes a change to personal insults.  I believe in using medicine when required.  For the vaccine it is the same as antibiotics.  When taken too much, the immune system is weaken and the body creates a tolerance.  Should the time come that an antibiotic or anti covid treatment is necessary an over-treated/vaxed body will not respond.

Hello Sue,Thanks for the update.  We all have to die of something.  Due to Meat Loaf’s previous well-documented health conditions and comorbidities he died with Covid.  His lifestyle choices came about because he was free to make that choice.  Those freedoms enabled him to be a talented musician, and I would not wish it to be any other way.

Incidentally, what has Mr Loaf’s passing got to do with me?  I fail to see the similarities.  He was an overweight man, suffered from asthma, and lead a rock star’s life.  I am none of those.  He was exceptionally talented, also which I am sadly not. The cause of Mr Loaf’s death has not been released.

What a silly comment.  You do not know anything about me.  I am not a burden on public services, but even if I were, as a taxpayer it would be my right. Did you miss the stress put on the NHS by people like you? You must be one of those who believe it was all a fake. Like those barging into hospitals trying to prove the NHS is not overrun. Do you consider all the stories of the dead and seriously I’ll fiction? I’ll wish you good luck and the same fate that visited Meat Loaf spares you and your family. Just for the sake of an injection that a minimal number of people, no more than with any vaccine, have zero problems with.

You must’ve missed the 5 pm press conferences when people were told not to contact their GP or the NHS for other matters.  We mustn’t put pressure if the bloated nhs or interfere with nurses rehearsing for their tik-tok dances.You cannot have tried to get a proper appointment with your GP during the lockdowns. I do not regard a telephone call or a zoom call to be satisfactory. If the NHS was functioning as well as you seem to think it was, perhaps you explain why waiting lists are reaching 6 million and there are thousands of missed diagnosed illnesses. Not to mention mental issues, domestic abuse, missed education etc.  All at a cost of half a trillion pounds.

John. Perhaps too much political interference in the past has ended in too many administration staff? I know I was an overhead at one time several decades ago when I was an IT worker at NHS Supplies - but supplies was the life blood of organisations and IT support workers are ubiquitous in all industries.  Seems that money may need to be found from somewhere to pay higher wages if they are to recruit more staff?Not true nothing other than Covid has happened during the past two years - I've had one cataract operation though, true  I've no idea when the second will be done ...

I don’t think anyone can claim the profligate nhs is starved of cash.  It receives 40% of the money raised from our taxes.  That is a silly amount, particularly when more than half of the workforce is not even involved in administering healthcare.  They don’t more money, they need a shakeup. For nearly two years they refused to deal with people’s health if it wasn’t covid. Outrageous.

That may be why you pay for the NHS but the government had starved the NHS of so much cash prior to the pandemic that radical action was required to stop it collapsing under the strain of dealing with Covid.Never claimed to study epidemiology but did stats as part of maths BSc and used some in my telecoms PGDip. Must admit not my favourite bit of maths - calculus is so much more satisfying, more precise and less open to interpretation :-)

Correct. Wouldn't it be thought of as strange indeed if the government coerced or mandated Chemotherapy if they felt you might have cancer (using some fake unscientific test like "PCR" or "LFT"). If you look at the most vaccinated country ie Israel; they are top of the so called "Omicron" league with more cases and hospitilizations than any other country. How can this fact lead people to say that the shot works? That is beyond me. Perhaps someone can explain?

It’s becoming more obvious that the public are really uncertain and the narrative is crumbling, in hindsight many would have not had been vaccinated.  It was those fears and threats of restrictions from government and MSM with its miss information that have managed to brainwashed us.. This  is a sneaky government and they will be back with mandatory vaccine programs….hopefully we will all ignore.

No it doesn't just "last 10 weeks" - this remark shows total ignorance of basic immunology. But no surprise - why should any idiot member of the general public be expected to have a post-doctoral understanding of immunology in the first place? What actually happens is that after several weeks there are less antibodies, but the vaccine has primed the immune system with T cells and B cells. If the body confronts the virus, or something similar again, the T cells alert the B cells which manufacture more antibodies again. Vaccination, and also previous infection,  have the effect of making the disease experience far less severe. Get to the point when everyone has had one or the other and this thing might really become like a cold or flu - a couple of years hence. But never mind the science, just listen to the JCVI. Or some ridiculous tit on the internet that hasn't a clue. Make your decision as to which to listen to. A tough call I know.

I agree Michael.Many people cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.  That is one thing.But the staunch anti-vaxxers have been fierce and the misinformation they have distributed is shocking.  I agree I have very little time and patience for them.

That is not quite the same as unvaccinated. I totally agree, anti-vaxxers are not properly informed.There is nothing like hearing the truth from the "horse's mouth".The experience in hospitals at the moment are horrendous.  There was an article not long ago (cannot remember where) but an A&E doctor was saying he had lost his patience with non-vaccinated people.  It must be soul destroying for them.
