Covid Vaccine Side Effects

The marvellous Omicron vaccination programme is well underway, which will hopefully help prevent people getting seriously ill from the virus. Unfortunately, not much information seems to be getting shared about possible side effects of the vaccines. However, the World Health Organisation provides information on reported side effects of the vaccines on their ‘VigiAccess’ website. Sorry to hgear that. Interesting, were the blood close and heart attacks attributed to vaccines? Sadly, it's not uncommon for seemingly healthy fifty year olds to have heart attacks - I've lost several colleagues over the years like that. Stents are usually fitted to push back the fatty accumulation in the heart over a period of time so I'm unclear what other conditions would cause that in a very short period? Unfortunatly a friend of mine in his mid 60s had a heart attack and stent fitted and was recovering well in hospital but then caught Covid while in hospital and died as his system was too weak to cope. This was near the start of the pandemic when no treatments or vaccines were available. I suspect if it happened now and he were triple vaccinated he might have had a fighting chance.

Unfortunately that is so wrong… only 5% take up on U.K. yellow card vaccination side effects and deaths are not really reported correctly by doctors and autopsy rarely happen now unless relatives insist, and remember your not actually classified as vacated until 14 days after your injection !!! I do believe so many vaccines deaths every been put down as covid deaths… one good thing about our government they know how to manipulate data and figures, that are shown on national statics weekly report. All this data has to be passed by Downing Street, which never use to happen. You would be a fool to believe anything this  government tells us .

One chaps this experimental treatment is a ticking time bomb … you immune system will be compromised maybe not today but it will…so much evidence and Pfizer being taken to court in Germany and Canada… it’s far safe to stay vaccine free than be part of the vaccine damage lottery… you are free to do whatever you like …. I think nearly all my friends and family have been vaccinated and none have reported any serious reactions except one after their first dose of AZ but that was because they had a known immunity system problem. They were discussing what to do about subsequent vaccinations with their doctor - they wanted protection against Covid! I do have another friend who was against getting vaccinated but then changed his mind and got vaccinated because he owned a manufacturing company and needed to travel to Europe.  He moaned a lot about side effects but seems to be alive and well now!I do know a couple of friend who were seriously affected by Covid early on in the pandemic and one who died. (He was rushed in with a heart attack, was recovering after having a stent fitted the caught Covid in hospital and his body couldn't cope - he was very over weight, I think from a from poor diet.)I know a handful of people who've had Covid after two or three jabs but they have had mild symptoms and recovered in around a week.Still, technically this is all hearsay,  not robust statistical evidence!

My AZ jabs had little reaction, the Pfizer booster even less.  None of my friends suffered any after effects from the booster.  Down in Dorset another set of friends claim the vaccine has caused them serious hardship for weeks; one is a nurse.  They are telling their friends not to get the booster.It's hard to believe these reported reactions if you personally have had no reaction and I would think even a few weeks of discomfort is worth not getting a bad dose of covid - unless people don't really mind catching it???This has been an educative thread!

I received no reaction to my first two jabs, however I experienced discomfort after my booster. That said I was warned of this possibility in Queen Mary's Hospital where I attended for the booster. My discomfort cleared within two days returning me to normality. I consider it a small price to pay for the added protection.  As one who nearly died of Covid a year ago the discomfort, if you get any, is only temporary, the protection a possible life-saver.

Sadly we had 2 friends died suddenly one from heart attack others blood clot on the lung we are convinced the 2nd vaccine was the cause. Plus we had other friends of friends have serious heart operations …. It’s actually happening and very worrying it could strike anyone in months or years to come.  So angry the whole covid injections program should be stopped., and for god sake don’t touch the children,

Intersting you say that Martine, when I had my second AZ jab i wasnt sure they had actually done it either i didnt feel the needle go in and experienced no side effects. @Sue, I got my booster a couple of weeks ago and within 2 mins my arm was really pretty sore but it calmed down with 24 hours. Hopefully yours will do soon!

Sue, the first AZ jab was so painless, I had to ask if they had done it.  After the second AZ the area of the jab ached for weeks afterwards.  With Pfizer booster, the jab itself was painless but about 10 days ago I had bad pain all along my arm with the worst area around the jab area.  However, all pain has now gone, the jab area doesn’t ache anymore.

Sorry for dragging this thread back on topic but I had my booster jab yesterday and my arm is so blummin painful this morning!🙀The pain has radiated up to my shoulder and I didn't experience this with the first two AZ jabs but yesterday's was Pfizer so I am asking if anybody else had the same reaction to it? Time for some more paracetamol.

Thing is that people who don't wear seatbelts do get pulled up eventually, get fined plus I assume points. These people invariably just hurt themselves and from the police's point of view an easy target to spot. Anti-vaxxers invariably hurt other people. But obviously these morons couldn't give a stuff.

No that's not right. It is not that the NHS will not perform a surgery on an obese person because of the poor outcome. The NHS will ask the person to lose weight or not provide the surgery.There is nothing "extreme" about the suggestion I have made. Indeed there is nothing extreem about suggesting that the UK move to a US model of healthcare provision - although that is not what I have done. I would, however, suggest that the UK move to a Canadian or European model since as the population continues to age and the cost of up to date treatments continues to increase, the free healthcare for all which we supposedly enjoy in the UK (we don't - it's already rationed) is simply not sustainable.Also, you are being just a little bit patronising. I am old enough and familiar enough with the subject that I do not need to be warned not to "feed the antivax agenda". Those with underlying conditions which preclude vaccination ON  MEDICAL ADVICE are a small sub-set. Those hesitant as a result of spurious causes (ie excuses) such as pregnancy, morals or religion AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE have no right to freeload on the rest of us and I am tired of hearing these mealy-mouthed excuses for them.However, I would be content for free medical treatment to  be withheld only from active anti-vaxx campaigners. Those misguided and not getting themselves vaccinated but desisting from spreading nonsense about vaccinations on social media, I'd let them off with a warning - get vaxxed or next time you pay.

Michael the examples you give are based on outcomes not prior decisions.Ignoring the antivax there is a lot of vaccine hesitancy which includes people that are not convinced due to being pregnant, underline conditions, holding religious views, moral views or whatever. They are not my views but the best way to convince them is more transparency and openness not threatening people with no treatment.As regards the antivax there are other more timely methods than waiting until they need critical care.Sounds like you are justifying your extreme views based on the actions of extremists.Should a young previously healthy and fit unvaxed person be denied treatment and a vaxed obese older person receive treatment?Do not feed the antivax agenda with more fuel. Of course there are many that want to see the NHS principles discarded and move to a US type system. Covid is just a cover for some which hold such views.

Try getting a liver transplant if you will not stop drinking. Or orthopaedic surgery if you cannot get your weight down. IVF if you will not follow the protocols required. We don't have universal healthcare. It is already rationed as the resources are not limitless and the demand constantly outstrips them.Covid LTF's are free from the chemist, paid for by the tax-payer. How would you feel if someone made it their hobby to spend their days collecting as many boxes as possible and burning them in the evenings. Free healthcare is a privilege and with it should come some responsibilities, especially a responsibility not to abuse the system. Anti-vaxxers  reject the heathcare system - why should they get to pick up the free bits they want whilst imposing their costs (their potential illness plus the infection they might spread) on the rest of us. They are taking the p****.The young are already paying out of taxation an enormous amount to look after the old and sick. It surely risks stretching their patience to lay yet more costs on them, when those costs are unnecessasry and self-generated.

It is really saddening to see that principle under attack on this forum again.It is very saddening how easily the principles of the NHS are thrown away. But what if it was? It's a slippery slope once that happens!The UK pays for the NHS out of past, current and more importantly future taxation. Treatment is given regardless of contributions.I would like to thank the younger generations that have been wonderful during this pandemic - who are statistically less impacted by the virus but who have been greatly impacted in all other ways to protect those older than themselves. If we can pass on anything to them it has to be the NHS and the principle of universal health care.

It's a tough call how best to proceed, whether to "do one's own research" along lines guided by random nutters on the internet or take the calm and measured advice of bodies such as the JCVI. OK, that was sarcasm.It is probably against the forum guidelines to refer to anti-vaxx campaigners as ignorant and malicious scum, so I'll just go with "sociopaths".I really little care in the world if an individual chooses not to receive a potentially life-saving vaccination - though I do question whether any extra medical treatment they receive as a consequence should be subsidised by the rest of us.But what mind-set leads to manufacturing and distributing misleading posts on social media with the aim of dissuading others from receiving said vaccinations?There are websites I know which lure depressed people to them and then encourage suicide. The people behind them get some perverse kick out of thinking perhaps they have caused someone to harm themselves. I think it it is a similar phenomenon

Mixture of snippets of truth and imagined "reality", could be manipulate by players.Then it then got hijacked;  easy as it was decentralized; then got used as commercial vehicle, fed by those who could easily manipulated it and  create a strange "reality"  encompassing people such as Trump, Epstein, Maxwell, etc  ... - it was then hijacked for right wing politics. Similar things done by Bannon and Cambridge Analytica before ...QAnon became believed by so many that its beliefs got embedded in right wing Republican policies ...US and Republicans stuck with it ... social media reinforces views in bubbles of confirmation bias . Epistemological bubbles don't always help ...The QAnon great awakening didn't happen on 20th Jan 21 - DJT wasn't inaugurated and Democrats not slaughtered.
Now March 4th is an alternative date ...[March 4th 2021 didn't happen either!]Obviously a view of the researcher but has credibility!

I suspect the voluntary nature of the vaccine harm registers will prove to be their undoing now that the vaccines have been politicised to such an extreme degree. The antivaxxers are certainly motivated enough to enter a few thousand fake death reports. On the other hand, the scientists that make use of this data are smart enough not to blindly use the stats without at least checking on a representative sample. So I will tend to trust the research based on VAERS etc, rather than the raw data

Simon, the 90% figure (quoted elsewhere as 80-90%) was wrong, as Full Fact (in the reference I posted) found that "the figure now is around 35%."Of course that's still far too high, and it's infuriating that these people are finding out too late that the vaccine is necessary (despite what comedians like Michael Brown claim).

Not sure if it's actually a criminal offence although it's probably breaches the T&Cs of the website if booked online, but it's certainty hypercritical: either one believes in the freedom to choose or one doesn't, so they're inhibiting people's right to be vaccinated. I don't think vaccination should be compulsory, although I would strongly recommend it and I am myself, and know few people in my circle of family and friends who aren't fully vaccinated (unless they have a medical reason such as an immune system issue). Even covid passes don't enforce vaccinations as LFTs are an alternative and, as Matt's pointed out elsewhere, might be as or even more useful for preventing transmission.

Well I had the most enormous bruise on my arm after my flu jab this year for the first time ever (and it was painless).  Just a sore arm for the booster.I do wonder how many people knew about and used the yellow card system here for medication side effects (or even read the notes inside a packet).  There is a lot of medication out there and many don't go well together and can send you to hospital.  How many people take their own blood pressure now that doctors' surgeries are difficult to access?

It's worth noting that, on the VAERS homepage, it states that it's estimated that only 1% of all vaccine injuries are reported to VAERS.

(population=333,828,917) Your 3.64 Billion is total world jabs!! (World Population is 7.9 Billion)(The UK is Yellow Card!! NOT VAERS) According to Lazarus Report the VAERS data only represents 1% (or less)reporting of adverse eventsSo you can justifiably multiply the data by 1001,823,610 x 100 = 182,361,000One hundred and eighty two MILLION adverse reactions in a population of 333,828,917That is NOT insignificant statistically.It is highly significant statistically.It is vital to represent this data set accurately.Very worrying.
