Did Trump tell Farage he's going to start telling the truth now? :-)https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-double-negative-vote-fraud_n_61ac48dae4b0451e5516b553

Germany exports twice as much as the UK. Looking last night - imports to the US from Germany were twice the amount of UK too.Investment is probably the key to success. Something successive UK governments fail at decade after decade.Trump's pro-US policies did start to turn things around. But the fact remains if you have a huge military budget you will have less for investment. Of course you can use it to plunder other nations and become dependent upon the arms trade. The world doesn't stand still so my bet is we will fall further behind Germany, not because of in or out of the EU but because of the UK's culture. Most of the front benches on both side of the house were against investment for the last decade and more neither are likely to face the reality of where we are.

True, Barbara, but to be honest I don't have a desire or see much advantage in that. If others want to I don't have a problem though.

If it takes 40+ years to see any benefits from Brexit then I suspect it's likely the UK will rejoin the EU (which will undoubtedly evolve over the next decade), particularly if the UK gets blocked from science ventures such as ITER than will only succeed as collaborative ventures ... I saw an article indicating the NI economy is doing well in comparison to the rest o the UK as it's still in the single market but I'll admit I haven't verified its veracity. Still very jealous of yet another friend who's just got their Irish EU passport so know has dual nationality - should have chosen my parents better :-)

SH: Are you taking bets on Macron's demise? If so, what odds?
Alexander MacLeod ● 1525d
@Lucille40+ years in the EU so perhaps it will take as long now we're out but I don't think so. Anyway I doubt that the EU will continue in its present form as there is continuing discord within the bloc, not being helped by mouthy Macron who is on the way out also.
Sue Hammond ● 1525d
It will take time Sue? I doubt very much it will improve in our lifetime and never reach what it was when we were part of the European community.

Trump will be in jail in 2024.
Michael Winstanley ● 1525d
Hi Ed. We did not leave isn't just to trade with the USA. There are huge global opportunities to trade without constraints but it will take time.
I hope that they are both in good health in 2024.Although there really isn't too much between them when it comes to policy. No doubt the UK will be drawn into the latest war be it hot or cold no matter who wins.I see no logic in leaving the EU only to be more closely coupled with the US.

Trump is considering running for President again in 2024 against Biden who says he will. Of course that's if he remembers ...
Farage will be on a percentage. Trump pretends to be still in politics because the donations that brings in help prop up his ailing businesses.
Looking forward to it!👍🏻
Thanks for the warning. I'll now know to avoid.
Who....?oh him, is he still around?
