PCR test

Is £99 the going rate for a PCR test, quoted by shop downstairs in Putney Exchange

Thanks another question my partner is flying to Amsterdam on Wednesday and we train to Belgium on Thursday. The tests he needs to do is:1) Tuesday lat flow for Amsterdam2) Day 2 (or before) lat flow for being back in the UK - i.e. before end of Thursday3) Wednesday lat flow for Belgium4) Day 2 (or before) lat flow for being in the UKMy question is can the 2nd test be used as the third test (timing works).

i would not use London Medical personally as they wouldn't answer a simple query about the test i needed to know to see if it fit the requirements of the destination. just felt like poor customer service to me so i went elsewhere

Yes agreed - it depends what test the op wants and why. NB all PCR tests are "in lab" - it is a laboratory in which the tests are processed.. The distinction you make is between "self-swab" and "in clinic".A problem with many test providers (mail order LFTs included) is that they advertise a very low price so as to get your attention, but when you come to book either the price is higher unless you pick up in person from Warrington or somewhere and/or they don't have a slot available for you.

That test you suggest is definitely a good option for when you've been away and are back in the UK on day 2. But if you need one before going on holiday, it's a slightly different thing and some destinations require an 'in-lab' PCR test to be done by a professional and won't accept self-administered home tests.Also, you don't need a PCR on day 2 now and can get a much cheaper lateral flow test for Day 2 - such as SimplyTestMe for £12!

Pretty much the going rate. Boots PCR test is a bit cheaper at £79 but they don't do it in Putney; Wimbledon or Kensington are the nearest branches that do. ExpressTest is highly rated and cheaper at a £59 rate but only at airports. They do walkthroughs in various places such as Paddington for £80I'm glad you posted this as I didn't know there was one in Putney Exchange - is it fairly new?
