Ulez causing problems for people going to the Crematorium and the dump, being charged. Also attending funerals.

It's been discussed for months and months, been in newspapers, been emailed by TFL, there are signs - I don't really see "I didn't know" is a valid excuse to be honest.

The fair thing to do would be to issue warnings to first time offenders in the first six months of operation of the scheme until awareness has become close to universal. However, lots of people are unwittingly picking up £80 fines and this is going to be particularly unwelcome to anyone in the process of grieving.TfL aren't going to change their policy or waive the fines for anyone attending a funeral as they desperately need the money. This desperation is in part down to the government's refusal to properly fund the operation of London's Transport Network.

I think people who are visiting the cemetery who don't live local are getting caught out. A friend of mine from Sheen who's mum is in the cemetery didn't know, I was explaining yesterday about the ULEZ. As she now lives in Redditch and hadn't got a clue about it.

I would be upset at having to pay the charge if I was visiting a grave or attending a funeral at Mortlake because over the road North Sheen (New Fulham) cemetery is not within the zone.  Mortlake Road separates the 2 cemeteries. I think Mortlake Cemetery should be excluded from the Zone.

@matt - is it a thing now to have an email mailing list (or a postal one) for cemeteries? I must have a word with a couple of them up in Wales as I’m getting zero updates. Nice to know I’m a client now not just and ordinary bereaved family member. I’m hoping they aren’t making you book a slot to visit the graves.

I have no idea what having a rave has got to do with this. I agree its unfortunate that it's within the zone but it's been known about for a good while in advance and they should be warning their clientele (not the dead ones obv) that there's a charge.

Hello Barbara,I remember reading a Wandsworth Council update email indicating that people who need to use the tip may ring the Council and they would pick the rubbish from you.  I will look it up and add the link (hope I have not deleted the message!)

Hello Matt,It seems to me that including the entrance to Mortlake Crematorium is, to put it mildly, extreme and totally insensitive.By definition, if you are going into the Crematorium, you are not going to have a rave and sensitivities are extremely raw. Nastiness par excellence!

Sounds like they need to inform their clients better, presumably the crematoria inside the original ULEZ have gotten used to it.
