I repair all sorts of household stuff, and I have had some success fixing Apple phones (a bit fiddly and delicate, but no soldering required — the challenge is all in the opening and removing and keeping track of the teeny screws). I recommend it, not just to save money (& the planet) but also for a real sense of achievement and satisfaction

With the news today that Apple is going to be more helpful in the future providing some spare parts and allowing people to mend their own phones - perhaps it will make it easier!

This sounds brilliant.I read an article about Smugglers Way Household Waste & Recycling Centre and was very impressed at the efforts made there to reuse and recycle what residents don't want.  In fact I think that there are other boroughs who could learn quite a lot.It is always worth checking your Council's webpages to check you are up to date with kerbside arrangements as well as your Council's HW&RC website to check there have not been any changes that you may have missed.  BTW You seem to have to book at them all nowadays.
