Marc removing local visible police has been the policy of all the parties over decades.Ken Livingstone was the last person connected with London that believed in visible policing.Of course you will get people saying it makes no difference in one sentence whilst justifying visible policing for VIP etc in another.Policing is also a green issue. Very hard to persuade people to use public transport etc if they feel unsafe.
