Putney High Street Wednesday night chaos

Went to the match at Craven Cottage came out in the pouring rain to get the 85 bus at the station, we get to the cinema and then turn left up PB Road, a few people asked the driver what was going on but he declined to talk to anyone, suddenly we were heading towards Clapham Junction, several passengers were really concerned (after all, this could of been a hijack). He then said that PH Street was flooded, he then got lost, it took a few passengers to guide him back to Putney, we got home after midnight. The question is, does anyone talk anymore?

Fross,Also after attending FFC's game (great result !) I must have been on the same bus as you.I can't explain why we ended up at Clapham Junction other than the fact that I got the impression the driver had no idea of the geography of the area he was driving in.That's bad enough but what is less excusable is that he was unable to contact TfL (perhaps staff could not get to work because the heavy rain affected the buses.....!) to get directions and proper guidance from Head Office.What a shambles.I will ask that nice Mr Khan what went wrong.

Thanks Barbara. It sounds like the main drains are overloaded. Fatbergs perhaps? Though I still think the new paving in the High Street may be contributing.

Yes, I waited outside Boots yesterday for my medication. The water isn't coming from the ceiling somebody said it rises up from the floor tiles.

If the flooding was severe again in Putney High Street, was that why both branches of Boots were closed around lunchtime Thursday?

Please report him to london transport! Sounds very dubious , could be drugs/ mental health issues. Whatever it is, driver not fit for purpose as communication skills zero!How unnerving for everyone.

Putney High Street flooded so impassable?  I doubt it, it is sloped down towards the river!  The rain was very hard but I suspect the driver made a mistake turning left and made up a story to try to cover it up.

Goodness, that was a bit of a shock. Lucky it wasn't flooded in the PB Rd, by the Adelaide Pub.
