Cyclists ASB

Clearly the norm is now to abuse pedestrians freely.The rules for red lights are:-cyclists are lazy so they won't stop at any light that will cost them any momentum-cyclists are selfish so they will only stop if there's a risk for them but don't give a shite about other people's safety-cyclists are bullies so anyone pointing at the red light to put an tiny bit of logic into their empty skulls will get insulted and shouted atOf course if you are part of the 5% of cyclists who stop 100% of the time at red lights, even when there's no traffic, like car drivers do... I apologise

You forgot the biggest idiots of them all, Uber's. They forget about the indicator stalk and the ones that use it, leave them on for so long it's like they're deaf.

When I was going to work in Picadilly and stopped for lights, crossings and stuck my arm out to signal direction change, I got plenty of abuse from fellow cyclists. Funny one is when I nearly took out another by signalling and this guy didn't see my Hi-Vis clad arm to the left and yelled at me for carving him up. Not to mention the amount of them that have earphones in when on the road.

Thank you Carole,I am aware that boroughs are allowing e-scooters to be hired and this is on a trial basis.As the website states:"We're running the trial with London Councils and the participating London boroughs, plus Canary Wharf. Working together on a single trial means the trial can run consistently across participating boroughs, with safety at its core.".... "The rental e-scooters will be provided by three different operators:DottLimeTIER"...

Hallo, YvonneSome boroughs are allowing e-scooters on a trial basis, but not Wandsworth.  You can goggle and check it out.

Hello Carole,I agree with your point of view but disagree on the e-scooters being illegal.  Make it compulsory for the riders to have a driving licence, complete the compulsory safety course, have insurance, wear helmets and high visibility tops. It is totally illogical to me that it is only legal to ride hired e-scooters, at least for the time being.  In my view, this is a money spinning exercise more than a safety issue.  On a similar basis and a hypothetical statement, all privately owned cars should be illegal but those hired from a firm or two would be legal.....

Bad behaviour is contagious unfortunately.On the plus side cyclists that go through red lights are one of the most inclusive groups I've seen. You can not predict who will stop just by their appearance. Although odds are they won't unfortunately!Some of us still do stop but we're are becoming an ever smaller minority.

Hallo, AdamJust to say that e-scooters are still illegal in the borough of wandsworth.  Fining the riders and taking away the scooters could prove to be a good source of revenue!

It is so frequent, cyclists going through on the red light.  I was crossing PHS by Disraeli Rd and a cyclist just didn’t even look, kept his head down hunched over the handlebars, as he raced through really fast.  Last week I shouted at 2 cyclists who came towards me at the main crossroads as it was showing the green man for me to cross, they had also gone through the red light.
I also had an incident with 2 cars on URR, E. Putney, at the crossing by the Court.  One car went through on red just as it changed.  Then we pedestrians all started to step out into the road as the green man was showing and another car, driver not looking at the lights went straight through.  People shouted at the driver.  It was mostly families walking their children to school. No enforcement whatsoever.

Well,Caroline  2hrs ago I crossed the road by Sainsbury's , Oh guess what an older cyclist kept going right nearly into me, he was lucky I didn't twist my trolly round and knock him off his bloody bike. How boring is that for you my dear. Every blasted day near enough the same. But then you wouldn't know if you don't live near the high st.

I knew about not wanting to lose momentum but I didn't realise about those clip on special cycling shoes that it can apparently be a bit of a pain in the proverbial to clip on and off the pedals... in which case maybe they just shouldn't be worn when not on an actual race track - but that's still not an excuse for not stopping at red lights and showing consideration for others.

Oh no! Not another anti-cyclists rant. I know that not all cyclists obey the lights, but we have been over all this again & again. It is getting boring now!
