Insulate Britain gives Boris Johnson ultimatum or will 'unleash hell'

Preferably long enough to take them over Xmas.  6 months should do it.  2 years would be preferable.  Oh and let's not forget a hefty fine to go with it.

Actually Michael it is their 2nd demand I most object to as well as the protesters themselves.I'm trying to get thru the - Extinction Rebellion UK video (4 September 2021 | Roger Hallam) link at the bottom.Quite hard to say IB are not connected to XR when the video says XR.Most climate studies highlight the link between wealth and emissions. It is not clear to me that the protestors who appear quite wealthy have changed their lifestyles as insulation is only responsible for a fraction of emissions when looking at one's whole energy use.Is it even possible that the protestors may be responsible for more emissions that the people they are stopping? The protestors have to be seen to have some legitimacy to their cause otherwise why not just employ professional protestors?? The right to protest is a fundamental right which is already under threat by the government with the support of their Labour minister on the opposite bench.The bigger danger here is that these protests will enable the government to get public support to further restrict protests.A progressive energy tax to help reduce demand and excess whilst providing a source of funding for grants. Along with low interest loans for those that are cash or property rich would not only be fairer but would bring emissions down quicker. Ed. Yes, there is a possible problem with using set theory in that XR and IB aren't hierarchical organisations so not all elements of the sets (perhaps none) can be guaranteed to adhere to all the properties, but I still think it's a good and pragmatic way of describing the issue.Colin and Steve seem incapable of understanding that one might understand someone's  motivations and agree with an outcome they want (are they saying the Environmental Agency are wrong?) whilst not necessarily agreeing with the methods, so being incapable of that they result to insults. Oh well ... climate change won't really be my problem.

You are right Steve, anyone supporting these criminals obviously aren't out there trying to earn a living on the roads. The recent comments from the leaders of these organisations that they don't care if people get stuck in traffic going to hospital is repugnant.To put them is the same bracket as the Suffragettes is laughable.

Been mentioned before, but I agree there appears to be a few old age eco-warriors on this forum, who have nothing better to do than sitting around smoking dope unaffected by the XR/Insulate Britain disruption, and supporting these criminals sitting in the road.

I'm not so sure it is that clear - from the XR Website:"The structure aims to empower anybody to act as part of XR, so long as they agree to follow our ten core principles (see ‘Our principles and values’ section below)."Do IB agree to XR principles???

I totally agree Michael!  Gas and electricity are both classed as energy but they are not the same, are they?

It seems pretty straightforward. Just apply basic set theory. XR are two separate organisations with their own members. However, there is an intersection between them that includes members from both groups, ok? That may include  subsets of major investigators in one or both organisations. Seems pretty straightforward, yes? But that doesn't mean they're the same organisation, does it! Just revert to simple 'O' level maths :-)

More insulate Britain protesters dragged off the road this morning by the public to free traffic in East London.Their XR friends are standing shoulder to should with them.One XR twitter account posted:"This kind of brutal assault cannot go on. Our warriors have been good enough to give up their time to save you all. You should applaud and bring snacks, not this!"Mr Palmer's comments that the two groups are not related is laughable.
