Barbara, I'm not sure that is true. They could have blue flashing lights and even a siren if they need to scoot fast.It just means they can cover a greater area. If you look at the few police allocated to area then deduct breaks and travel time from the station and spread that out over the day it is very thin.

@MWThe women involved did report it to the police first, open the original link and read the post on Nextdoor.How do you know this creep is no physical risk to anyone?  Unless you know him personally you have no idea what his motives are or what he is capable of doing.  I presume you are not a Psychiatrist either?  The fact that this perv also approached children and subjected them to the same verbal filth makes him a potential danger in my opinion.  The police possibly think the same."Wandsworth Police said: "Yesterday (7th Oct) we received a call to Wandsworth park about a male approaching children with offensive & obscene sexual questions."A male was arrested for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child."The male remains in custody. Investigation remains ongoing."

Funding has always been an issue Michael with all the governments that followed,Some of those institutions locked people up for just for being challenging teenagers who were eventually freed half a century later.You have to think back to a time when the UK had just finished shipping orphans off to Australia as part of the "white population policy" and only white people were allowed to work for the Royal household!Closing those institutions was the right thing to do am I'm no fan of the Thatcher's government!

What i would like to know is whether someone's first move is to put it on Nextdoor Neighbourhood or inform the police. I hope it's the latter but I do wonder.Tbh this guy sounds like a typical case - no physical risk to anyone, just socially disruptive. I hope he is being looked after. Margaret Thatcher's government introduced the concept of "care in the community". This basically seemed to amount to cutting funding and making all of us deal with the problem instead of looking after the poor souls properly.

Perhaps if the Police were on e-scooters (modified of course for Police use) they may have intervened earlier.If criminals are using e-scooters ane e-bikes should the Police not too?

We have 2 new police in Thamesfield with powers of arrest,  met one complete with cuffs on belt on PHS yesterday also a highly efficient new PCSO, +existing.. advise you contact Thamesfield police by phone,or email, or dial999,if crime taking place.. take picture to be used as evidence
