With the awful incident happening in March, I really think they should have announced the rest of the information, in regard to her being handcuffed and to getting into a car that wasn't a Police Car. This could also have been tried again or by somebody else.

Carole. I'll forgive you. It's actually laziness and being a cheapskate - I have temporary long and short vision glasses rather than expensive varifocals at the moment as I'm between cataract ops. It's just me being to lazy to swap glasses when I make a quick post. If I've got the correct glasses on I can see ok! Better not say anymore as this is a digressions on a serious thread.

Michael as you indicated the processes need to be reviewed and lessons learnt. Will that be the case? I'm not sure we have leadership that believes in transparency to own this.With regard to plain clothed police officers which are increasingly being used perhaps guidance also needs to be updated.

A major concern has to be the vetting process, internal controls & investigation processes and reporting structures & cultural attidues in police forces. I think it's good the mechanism he used is now public as in future people can be aware that undercover police officers should not normally be making arrests on their own, and I suspect other police officers were aware of his methods of operating without it being made public.An appealing incident.

* given a whole life term.  Will die in jail.  However I think he will top himself first chance he gets.

He's been a whole life term. Good but hanging would have been better.
