booster vaccintaions

HalloDoes anyone know which chemists in the sw15 area are giving booster shots?  Really want to know as I am not prepared to go to a hospital!!Many thanks in advance

My wife just had her booster and flu jab at our GP's. 6 months after second Pfizer jab

It is all down to when you had your second jab.  There has to be a 6 months gap before you will be invited for your booster.  You then get the choice of several local centres, including QMH, it doesn't matter which GP you are registered with.

Jane: I am with Heathbridge and received an invitation to have my booster last Monday at QMH carpark. When I went the people in the queue with me seemed to be a mixture of Heathbridge and Putneymead. I expect that your invitation will come through soon.

Just rang Putneymead and was told the same thing as before. They are not providing COVID vaccinations and you have to wait for the NHS invitation. Seems Heathbridge is ahead of the game.

Hi Sue, I had a text on Wednesday saying ring Surgery to book an appointment. They said 12.15 Friday, I wasn't expecting it so soon. That was Heathbridge Surgery. Perhaps the Scout Hall has only just opened up again. They might start doing the Covid Jab as well there. Will it be nearer for you. Otherwise I think it's Queen Mary's.

Did you just go along Barbara on the off chance you'd be given one or did you have an appointment? Is it arranged via the GP surgery? Never having had one I'm not sure how it works.

Had my flue jab, Scout Hall, today 12 o/c, wasn't even a queue. Shut at 12.30.

I was told yesterday that Putneymead are not doing COVID vaccinations any more so you have to wait for the NHS Invitation for the booster. You can then book your appointment.

The Scout Hut, Oxford Road is doing flu jabs this morning. A very efficient operation: in and out with no waiting a few minutes before my appointment time. Well done, NHS!

I had a text from Heathbridge regarding flu jabs at the scout hut. You need to book and I think appointments are only available in the morning on 1/Oct; I'm not sure what other days they're available.

I parked at the top of Huntingfield Road near Crestway, at the back of the hospital - nearest to the vaccination tents and also free :)

I've just had a text from Heathbridge, they are doing flu jabs at the scout hall. I don't know if that is from the 1st Oct they will be open you obviously have to book.

HalloThanks everyone, good to know.  I walked past the Scouts Hut and it is locked up, so maybe not going to be used again.By the way, sorry for the mis-spelling of vacinations.

If you go by car to Q.Mary's make sure that you get your carpark ticket validated at the vaccination centre.

Yes, I have a appointment at Queen Mary's hub today. Its in the car park, not the hospital itself. I was contacted by text as it is now 6 months post my second jab.  You get a list of your nearest booster vaccination centres and can book the one that is most convenient.  I was also offered Wimbledon Centre Court as a nearby centre, and a church in Southfields, but no pharmacies on the list (yet).  Maybe the Scouts Hut will be used again?

As I understand it, the St Mary's facility is not in the actual hospital but in a temporary satellite building in the carpark. Sounds an OK venue. Appointments are required.

Queen Mary's was by appointment only.  Do not know now.

The National Health texted me and I made an appointment that suited me  Quite a few large centres apparently not functioning at the moment.  Not certain whether Queen Mary's was a drop in or appointment only

Doctors surgeries not yet equipped for boosters so I would guess chemists aren't either  I might well be wrong  Went to Queen Mary yesterday and had booster  Quite a few people there  Perhaps you could phone National Health, they are really helpful, they could put you in the right directionQueen Mary have set up a separate section away from hospital itself  You don't go anywhere near the hospital building.They were exceedingly efficient

Are they available now?I thought the NHS would contact the relevant group of people and they can make an appointment at any of the following:- a chemist- a larger vaccination centre (QM Hospital?)- a local NHS service such as a GP surgery
