Superglue  Help

Have had a mishap with Superglue  No I was not glueing myself to the M25!  I only wish them joy in getting unstuck  Seriously though, i squashed a tube by mistake onto a wooden surface  Am using a knife but not terribly successfully.

Thanks to everyone who offered tips to solve my sticky problem  I used a variety of these apart from WD40 as i didn't have any.  Acetone appeared to have the best results  That and elbow grease  I unfortunately used an abrasive cloth previously but I'm now not sticky!

WD40 seems to be useful stuff Jo, have bought a small 80ml can off eBay.👍🏻 Would nail polish remover be ok Alexander?

WD40 should sort this out, Sue. Spray on, leave for a few seconds and rub off with a soft cloth. Might have to repeat a couple of times til it's gone.

Superglue can be evil stuff, hope you manage to get it all off Barbara.Does anybody have a household remedy to get the residue left by a sticky label off a piece of wooden furniture please?

Could always try The Repair Shop, failing which - leave to dry thoroughly, avoid anything abrasive, and gently work at its edges with something hardish (i.e. not metallic) and coax the deposit off relying upon any film build-up on the original surface caused by normal atmospheric exposure to allow separation of the superglue - persistence should pay. Hope this helps.

Not bad actually  tried nail varnish remover,plus Cif cream cleanser plus more effort with knife scraping  Didn't have any WD40 Seems to have had quite a considerable effect  Am leaving the CIF on overnight Will report back tomorrow

Just googled it and it said either acetone (not too strong in order to avoid damaging the wooden surface) or spray the super glue with WD-40.Good luck!!

Soapy water?Normally, that is suggested if you happen to accidentally glue two fingers together, normally thumb and index.

In all seriousness Barbara, I think the police use a solvent not disimilar to nail polish remover to get XR people unglued.not sure if that's any help or not
