Facebook

Any brainy people that might have an answer, I can get into Fbook in internet explorer, but can't make video calls, or private messages. I've been on FB in Google chrome for years but they have locked me out for my own safety as they say abnormal activity going, somebody else might be in on my FB. Do I just have to wait for them to say it's OK. I was a bit concerned as I keep get a screen come up saying I locked out. But they want ID like Driving Licence, Passport etc, and I didn't want to give this.

Thomas, thank you, I couldn't get in for 4 days, they then sent me a code to input and I managed to get back in. Was a bit worrying at the time when they said they had shut me down for my own protection.

Hi Barbara, Best thing to do now, especially if you suspect someone had access, is to change the password as well as check the settings for the account affected. You don't know if they've added another mobile or email as your "backup". I would also highly recommend you go to your email address the account uses and change the password there and check for any changes to your account recovery, again what emails you'd have password resets sent to. This is the best way to prevent any more unusual activity tripping your account's protections or gaining access.

Matt I was in internet explorer a few years ago that's how I got into it to try and tell friends to be careful as it might not be me. I just went into FB in Google but they sent me a code and I'm back in now. I was rather worried as they said somebody had used my phone number and password. I was getting withdrawal symptoms as wasn't able to use for about 4 days.

I'm not sure Facebook supports internet explorer Barbara. It's a very old browser and it's being phased out everywhere. Microsoft replaced it some years ago with 'Edge' which you can download herehttps://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge
