One of my neighbours shared this with us a few days ago - it's proved very useful.Apologies for this long post but I wanted to share some ideas for those of you who would like to help the Afghan refugees feel welcome in this country by helping them to get the essentials they need. There are hundreds of refugees now quarantining in hotels near Heathrow. Thanks to those of you in this area who have very kindly donated clothes for adults and children. These have all been distributed to the hotels. I took some donations to one of the hotels myself today and got a much better picture of what they need. I have listed below ways you can help in the immediate future:1. They are in immediate need of baby food (halal), formula, bottles, sterilisers, nappies, wipes plus toiletries for adults and children. If you are able to order any of this via Amazon that would be hugely appreciated. Please have it delivered to:Nooralhaq NasimiUnit 9Griffin CentreFelthamTW14 0HSThis is the Afghanistan & Central Asia Association and they are doing a fantastic job of supporting the community and distributing donations. We will help them distribute donations to the refugees this weekend.2. We have created a wish list on Amazon to make it super easy to find something to order - any item will make a huge difference to the families arriving here with nothing. https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/25DB93407V44K?ref_=wl_share3. If you live in London and would like to donate clothes for adults and children (and babies) - you can drop off or post to the above address. Please arrange them though by women/men/boys/girls and label the packages accordingly. Makes it much easier for distribution.4. If you want to help at the centre itself or with deliveries please email friends@afghanistan-central-asian.org.uk5. They are also on Facebook with more information. I am happy to chat to anyone locally if you would like more information. Thanks everyone.
