Cyclist scheme for Oxford Rd etc. This is to much all these cyclist schemes. How about stopping them going the wrong way down one way streets. My other half came into our road the other day with an E Scooter coming in the middle of the road directly at him going very fast and caught my other half's wing mirror with his box on his back. My other half then  reversed backwards and ask him what was his problem and he said you could have avoided me. He was going the wrong way down the road, going too fast. So the young man was trying to make out it was my partners fault.

So perhaps it wasn't an e-scooter; an e-bike or a small motor scooter? Which of course are legal although would be breaking the law going the wrong way in Chelverton road as that (to my knowledge) doesn't have a contraflow for anything. If it was a small motor scooter presumably it had a number plate?

I'm talking about the road I have lived in for 50 yrs. It is one way, no excuses nothing to do with the 50's. I suppose if my partner had grabbed him and said you are on a one way street and called the Police. I expect it would be my other half who would have been done for racism. Oh poor young man just doing a living for Deliveroo. Just go down every road which ever way you want just get the food there on time. Don't worry if you break a wing mirror or dent a car, too bad. What do you mean they are two way for cyclists. What a load of ...... It's got a sign at the end by the High Street. Cars are parked both side of the road so how can a car or bike go the wrong way, without being in the wrong.

BTW there do exist one-way roads for motor vehicles which are officially two-way for cyclists - so well worth looking out for them - and teaching children about them!

Michael - is that correct? I can’t find anything on the WBC website. I realise that Wandsworth are not trialling rental scooters (unlike Richmond), but I thought riding scooters on the road had been permitted.Nick

If it was an e-scooter in Putney then it was being used illegally.
