Oh yes, but I don't count music venues in the same way as 'clubs', or disco's as I prefer to call them. I'm not past enjoying loud and live music!Ahhh, the Hope and Anchor! - memories of rubbing shoulders, literally, with Madness back in the distant past."cock ups are more common!"Well, in my opinion that solid likelihood is what makes any conspiracy theory a load of crock in my book. Their basis is almost always rooted in an over-complicated version of events and subterfuge that are generally ridiculous when you consider the simple alternatives or just ask what has or will be gained, such as if you're going to knock off a member of the royal family, slip them something in their food, not plan an event in a public place that could have gone awry in so many ways and most likely failed, NASA hiding the fact the earth is flat - why would they? because they wouldn't get funding? Hilarious. Add to that the fact that organising huge swathes of the world including extremely opposing political regimes to work together for some common goal, even disregarding the very strong possibility of some rogue individual spilling the beans beggars credibility. Incompetence is generally the problem in politics. I doubt any of them have the brains to think up anything of any complexity like these theories. As for COVID being a big plan to reduce the population or control it - one question - how come Bozo faffed about rather than bringing it in as soon as it kicked off. Maybe he missed the email from the illuminati.

Haha, Freddie, I know the feeling, although I don't go clubbing I have been know to go to venues like the Hope & Anchor to support some younger, ex-colleagues, who play in bands.I agree with some of the comments made such as:"If you are happy with a small group of private unelected billionaires deciding the future for the rest of us plebs then that is your individual choice""There have been so many U-turns by this Johnson government that I am now at a stage I don't believe a word they tell us."It is inequitable that Gates, Bezos, Warren, etc and others have all the power but sadly it's a fact that through history power, property and money go hand in hand - just look at the UK's feudal leasehold system.Yes, Johnson's not going to change that, it's not in his interest and before the last election some of us were trying to point out on this forum that he was a duplicitous buffoon. Yes, the current opposition is ineffectual but with the UK's electoral system they have little power to do anything given Johnson's majority. Perhaps some should have thought about voting against Johnson; for all his faults at least Corbyn (that's Jeremy not Piers) believes in what he says. Still that's history. But post pandemic there's plenty of opportunity to generate wealth - new ways to fight climate change being a major one. I'm not sure government debt is such an issue: these things get fudged, we only recently finished paying the debt to compensate those in the slavery business when it was abolished (who said crime doesn't pay, just remember where some of the families who have wealth today got it from).Conspiracy, perhaps conclusion or collaboration are more appropriate ideas? I'm not a great believer in conspiracy theories; cock ups are more common! Still, people believe the earth's flat or is only 6,000 years old in the face of pretty good evidence to the contrary ... still, Google has entries to let one prove anything one wants to, its looking at the authors and peer reviewers, and their provenance that's important ...

“I do sometimes wonder if some of the clubbers worried about an emergency approved vaccines (which do have a decade or two of research underpinning them) are the same ones popping pills of a completely unknown provenance?”Good point Michael! 😀  I’m not sure they all pop pills but I will admit it’s been many a year since I’ve been out to a nightclub!  Coercion worries me.  Covid passports for domestic use concern me a lot as that is so intrusive.  Hopefully their use domestically will be restricted to large events, but as ever the government nudge messaging appears to trying to do more.Whilst there may be some research underpinning mRNA vaccines, I believe these are the first ever to have emergency approval for use outside of trials and therefore in a year or two we will hopefully be able to better track the effects and benefits.  They certainly seem to be having a very positive initial impact which is good news but it’s unfortunate their first use comes in the current circumstances and with such a push to get people to take in their billions despite any doubts.  The concerns from what I’ve seen are over effects of pathogenic priming and antibody dependant enhancement as the virus continues to mutate but I couldn’t tell whether those will become serious issues or are a chimera.Pathogenic priming is described here for those interested but there will be many other papers on it.  I would like to see more discussion and research in this area, hopefully to allay concerns.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7142689/

Hi Mike,There have been so many U-turns by this Johnson government that I am now at a stage I don't believe a word they tell us.They originally told us 3 weeks to flatten the curve, and that there was no evidence mask wearing was effective in stopping the spread. Then Hancock told us last December if we get the vulnerable and elderly double jabbed, we can open up the economy back to normal by Easter. They told us there were no plans for vaccine/pub passports. All lies and unfortunately there is no opposition to hold them to account. Many of the ministers are breaking their own rules which the general public are expected to stick to.When I checked recently, Covid was 20th on the list of causes of death in the UK.Anyone that follows economics will know that governments around the world are bankrupt and shortly the IMF will have to step in to give countries bailouts and debt amnesty. In years gone by governments tried to balance the budget with income from taxation and expenditure to NHS, public sector etc, but now the debt levels are so high it is impossible to ever pay the debt back.People are starting to wake up to the fact there is more to these lockdowns than what meets the eye.I think we are currently undergoing a practice run for population control. With the 'Great Reset' soon to be upon us there will be mass protest around the world (already starting to happen in many countries) and this is when the government will again exercise the population control tactic that we are currently seeing to keep people and protests off the streets.
