Diesel powered TV!

Are buses with huge LCD display on the side compatible with the pupose of the ULEZ? Besides the extra energy, the extra weight will also add to emmissions.I also noticed that many buses do not turn off their engines when terminating. Is this due to the batteries needing recharging I wonder? Or is there some other technical reason? If not shouldn't TFL have a no idling policy?These small things should be tackle to improve air quality, perhaps if we had someone in charge that understood buses!

These LED displays are particularly parsimonious with electricity, so it'll make very little difference to the electrical output of the engine, and hence the amount of pollution. It's only recently that LED technology has advanced to allow this sort of bus side advert at all. Compare an LED TV from even 5 years ago with a current model. Far less thirsty. And compared to the old CRT tube tellies it's a small fraction of the energy used. And these displays aren't tellies they are only display boards.
