Incident on the line

I was on the Teddington train yesterday at around 2pm which was stopped at Wandsworth Town. Apparently a lady had slipped and fallen under the train. The lights went out, electricity cut off,no one was allowed to leave for at least half and hour. Then a helicopter landed in the roundabout nearby, police  and firemen ever where. I was told they thought she was dead but she cried out. I heard that the driver was so traumatised he would not carry on. As I left the station I counted eight police cars and two fire engines that plus a helicopter.

I see she was 'taken to a local hospital' so she did survive.

Bad for the woman but 8 police cars, 2 fire engines and a helicopter seems a bit OTT.

There is a very big gap at some stations between train and platform and also with some it is a steep drop down out of a train onto the platform.  Having a handle to hold onto is now important to me as I don't find it as easy as I used to.I agree it must have been a terrifying experience for both of the person who fell and the driver.

Yesterday, at about 2.15pm, we were on PHS after turning right from Putney Bridge Road when four incident response units went from Putney Bridge to Putney Bridge Road, at full speed with sirens blaring.  They must have been responding to this incident.  I hope the lady and the train driver are OK.  What a dreadful experience to go through!
